July 14 we were blessed to help pack the Paramount Theater
in Ashland, Kentucky to witness the phenomenal mastery of contemporary blue grass band, Nickel Creek
with their guest, Glen Phillips . Unfortunately, this was our first time to see Nickel Creek live and it is their "Farewell for Now" tour. I'm not sure exactly what that means but it does not sound good for a fan. When I ordered my tickets I made sure that I would be able to bring my cameras and was told, "As long as you don't use flash" you'll be ok. As it turned out, officially, photos were not allowed at the show. I was able to take just a few before a very nice usher asked me to stop. After the concert we hung out at the Nickel Creek bus until Chris, Sean and Glen arrived and presented an additional impromptu concert. Unfortunately, being in a wheelchair severely hampered my ability to get a decent angle to even see the musicians let alone get good photos. However, overall, these photos capture the memory of the event well for me. Click "Read More" to see the photos.
