treadmill1Wow! A whole new experience began for me in physical therapy this week. With assistance from the dedicated therapists at Orthopedic Physical Therapists and Associates, I've starting moving my feet in a way I've not experienced since December 13. I certainly am not supporting myself on my own. There is a lift device above me that reduces my weight by 90 pounds. Then a therapist assists me in relearning the walking motion by applying some pressure to my backside while guiding my feet when necessary. I first tried this on Tuesday, May 30. Today, May 31, I walked for a total of seven minutes over three attempts. In the photo, you may notice the wrap around my left foot. The wrap helps to keep my toes up so I do not drag them across the tread. My left foot is a little less strong than my right so this is helpful, though I'm getting better.

In addition to the photo above, taken by my daughter Jessica, we have a couple of movie files as well.
