Great Red's Promotion - Unless You Are In A Wheelchair!

The Cincinnati Reds announced a sweet deal for Reds fans for the Milwaukee series next week. Seats in the View Level, normally$22 are only $5 and the hot dogs are only $1. Of course the promotion is probably only to sooth lingering irritations at the Ken Griffey trade and horrible post all-star performance of the team.

At any rate, I thought, "hey what a nice time to take the family down to a game" and called to place an order for tickets. The long and short of it is the Reds would love to sell me the seats but they just don't have any accessible seating available in the view level seats. So sorry charlie, it sux to be you!

I really appreciate the fact that I can go to the game at all and that the stadium has generally good facilities for a wheelchair user including family style restrooms, but it is frustrating that once again, my handicap is costing more money than for an able-bodied.

We are still going to the game and thankfully it occurs on a night when teachers can purchase tickets for half price. So we are sitting at the top of the lower level along the first base line. I'll enjoy the view but will probably think often of the $5 seat we could not get!
